Jeep has two small crossovers to fit everybody’s needs – the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass. While these two Jeeps have very similar features and are both small SUVs, there are a few things that you should consider before purchasing. Keep reading to learn about each of them and which one is best for you!

Jeep Compass vs Jeep Cherokee

Interior

Because the Jeep Compass is smaller than the Cherokee, you’ll find that there’s less legroom and padding with the rear seats. On the other hand, the seats up front have 41.8 inches of legroom, a little more legroom than the Jeep Cherokee offers.

With the rear seats up, the Jeep Compass has 27.2 cubic feet of room, which is about two inches less than the Jeep Cherokee with the seats pushed forward and almost three inches more space than the Cherokee with rear seats pushed completely back. With seats folded, the Compass offers 59.8 inches of cubic space while the Cherokee only gives you 54.7 cubes of space.

While the Jeep Compass is smaller, in other words, you’ll find that you have more room than the Cherokee, especially when the back seats are folded.

Fuel Economy

Both models are fairly similar when it comes to fuel efficiency. The Cherokee can get up to 22 mpg in the city, 31 on the high way, and 25 combined. The Jeep Compass gets up to 23 mpg in the city, 32 highway, and 26 combined. Because they are so close, this isn’t a factor you need to worry about even if fuel efficiency is important to you.

Features

The Jeep Cherokee is more equipped than the Compass, with LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, a 3.5-inch display, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The Compass has similar features but does not offer the LED headlights or 17-inch wheels. It does have dual-zone automatic climate control, which the Cherokee does not.
